Senate Energy & Natural Resources Committee Explores Wildfire Risk

The U.S. Senate Committee on Energy & Natural Resources recently held a hearing to examine federal and nonfederal collaboration, including through the use of technology, to reduce wildland fire risk to communities and enhance firefighting safety and effectiveness. The efforts of CPAW, including applications of risk assessments to reduce wildfire risk in the wildland-urban interface, were addressed in testimony by Victoria Christiansen (Deputy Chief of State and Private Forestry, U.S. Forest Service) and Steve King, P.E.
