National Planning Conference: A Team Approach to Wildfire Planning

April, 2018. CPAW team member, Molly Mowery will be part of a panel discussion at National Planning Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana, hosted by the American Planning Association. The panel will discuss “A Team Approach to Wildfire Planning” and explore how planners contribute to wildfire mitigation and resiliency and disaster management; how to begin a resiliency planning effort; the role of the comprehensive plan, development codes, and building standards in the wildland-urban interface and other fire-hazard areas; and how to form teams of planners, fire and emergency management professionals, and building officials to address wildfire planning.
